![]() Paper FrogDIY Frog - Origami paper cat toy | ||
![]() Start with a rectangular piece of paper - if you have square Origami paper, you can cut off a strip, or fold the edges in to make a rectangle.
|
![]() The first three folds are just to crease the paper in the right lines for the head of the frog, so fold and then flatten back these first three folds.
| |
![]() First, fold the top left corner across and down to line up the right edge. Crease and flatten out again.
|
![]() Next, fold the top right corner across and down to line up the left edge. Crease and flatten the paper out again, and you'll have an 'X' of fold lines at one end of the rectangle.
| |
![]() Then, fold the top edge of the paper back, to make a horizontal reverse crease across the centre of the 'X' of creases you just created with the first two folds.
|
![]() Flatten the paper back to it's original configuration. You'll see three creases that look like this.
| |
![]() Now comes the tricky fold in this frog. To make the head of the frog, you'll bring the two ends of the horizontal crease towards each other, creating a triangle or arrow shape pointing away from you - this will become the head of the frog.

| |
![]() Front legs - fold the lower corners of the bottom of the triangle towards the top to make the front legs of the frog.
|
![]() You can try different folds for the front legs, folding them in, then back at the tip for a frog-foot.

|
![]() Body - fold the left and right sides of the body of the frog in towards the centre.
| |
![]() Back Legs - fold an accordion pleat or concertina fold into the lower end of the frog to create a springy back end that will make froggie jump.

| |
![]() Turn your completed frog right ways up, and you are ready to start jumping!
|
![]() Press, pat or tap lightly on the back end of the frog to make it jump. You can re-fold the back legs until you get the sort of jumper you want.
